Jonathan Fong is currently the host of the DisneyFamily.com web series “He Made, She Made.”

He can’t draw. He has no formal design training. And he’s allergic to flowers. But what Jonathan Fong does have is a good imagination. (And some good antihistamines.)

In the do-it-yourself decorating and crafts world, Jonathan’s brand of DIY stands for “dramatic, inexpensive and yes-you-can.” He loves to inspire people to flex their creativity because he truly believes that if he can do it, anybody can. After all, he wasn’t always a designer. He used to be a copywriter at an advertising agency, writing commercials for clients such as Jenny Craig, Jergens Lotion, Acura, and Boston Market. But he began decorating his house for fun, and with no design school background, his ideas were a bit unorthodox. Eventually, he was discovered by HGTV’s “Kitty Bartholomew: You’re Home” show, and the night the show aired, his life changed forever. Viewers loved his witty work and wanted more. Additional stints on that show led to frequent appearances on HGTV’s “Smart Solutions” and USA Network’s makeover series “Before and After’noon Movie” in which he did room makeovers during commercial breaks. He has also been featured on the DIY Network’s “Craft Lab,” “Scrap,” and “60 Ideas in 60 Minutes,” as well as Fox LA News and “Good Day LA.”

Jonathan is the author of Walls that Wow, Flowers that Wow, and Parties that Wow, all published by Watson-Guptill/Random House. He has been interviewed and featured in Life, Good Housekeeping, Better Homes & Gardens’ Do It Yourself, Window & Wall Ideas, Kids’ Rooms, House Beautiful Home Remodeling, Woman’s Day Budget Decorating Ideas, Angeleno, Garden Ideas, Los Angeles Times Sunday Magazine, and over 100 newspapers across the U.S. and Canada.

Wanting to present his ideas to a wider audience, Jonathan launched his weekly web show “StyleWithASmile.TV.” Because many of his fans are international, from places as far away as Iceland, Croatia, Brazil and India, they do not get American television, but they all have access to the internet. With this web series, anyone can find inspiration wherever they are, whenever they want.
